Next Generation Talent is Back!

Melanie from Onlinefire has emailed me to share the news of this years competition in assocation with Panasonic:

The format is the same but we’re doing things bigger and better. We’ve completed a tour around the UK with 10 partner Universities to get more student involved, created a little ad (below) and released a bit of research on student career aspirations concerning the creative industries.

To elaborate a bit, we’ve looked into young people’s post-Uni plans and found that many are looking to advertising, marketing and other creative industries over banking and finance due to the recession. Some other top-line stats:

· 70% British students are worried about finding a job after Uni

· 83% of 18-24-year-old Brits believe that the creative industry offers a better variety of work and more mentally stimulating work

· Nearly half (42%) of 18-24 year-olds think that more students are now choosing the creative industry over banking

· Twenty-one percent of those surveyed under 35 believe that students choose the creative industry as it can lead to long-term economic security

The research was conducted by YouGov.
