Jester

Polly Jean Werner and Val Leitner contacted me regarding there upcoming business proposal which is in need of an identity:

‘…the idea is that there will be a website which acts as a portal to local artists of all kinds, potentially all over the world, but which also allows potential customers to purchase from artists. The customer will be able to tailor the search for products in many different ways, but one way will be to have the item purchased be a complete surprise, pulled randomly by the website out of the pool of artists. These will include everybody from potters to photographers to musicians to local bakers/candy makers/etc. This is one way the jester comes in, to teach us about giving and removing focus from the object itself.’
Val Leitner

I spent some time today coming up with a unique logo, drawing from the concept of world-wide - i came up with the notion of planes traveling - importing and exporting of goods and paper planes came to mind! This is a very initial concept/example - needs much refining. I created this as i understand that when explaining how you wish the design to look it is rather risky, in that people cannot visually see precisely what you are seeing with words - much more accurate and less wires likely to get crossed plus it is more fun communicating visually.

Created through folding Card&Paper and photographing - current typeface will change and colours to be considered red/yellow:
