Below is the second image I have produced for Fault.
White Lies was made from flour and dough.
The idea was to keep the surrounding space as white as possibly to allow easy application. I am going to re shoot the two entries, this and The Redwalls and see how they appear as titles with white space.

Certainly not Tacky! K is for Calligraphy is by far the best handmade artist i have seen in sometime. Her work is so homely and wonderfully crafted, such a unique approach to ordinary objects. Katy, the K in Calligraphy, has some superb work, i would suggest bookmarking either her flickr page or her website - full of inspirational work and all with a handmade twist!

A collaboration project with Vivek.
Photographic experimentation for the first A1 poster design:
“Hallucination is just a visual dyslexia.”
Vivek
The initial concept, to play with the ideas of perception via visual representation. Adding the notion of surgical illness to the concept of visual dyslexia and adding a multi-dimensional impact incorporating many levels of visual communication. By adding the clip to the design as a three dimensional letter form only adds to the drama of the piece and will enable lots of visual play. The next step is to illustrate around the ‘a’ of the ‘hallucination.’
UPDATED 14th May ‘08: The above exploration has been featured on the amazing Ventilate, a website which discovers and showcases all the latest innovative visuals and conceptual projects.
“Sarah France is doing some cool stuff with Design & Typography. Pay a visit to her blog, she’s really nice!”
Jason Doherty
A big thank you to Jason.
UPDATED 16th May ‘08: The full typographic treatment, exp. 1.
This is the more structured style (select image for larger view).
Tonally, hallucination could do with being darker to take your eye to the beginning of the quote. I may suggest to Vivek to add more subtle graphics to also enhance this. All in all, i feel it has the desired effect and works well with the 3 Dimensional A of the clip. This design has now been submitted to Vivek, it will be fascinating to see how he applies the finishing touches to this collaboration.

Having a fond love of typography, I made an attempt at designing the logotype for the collaboration project myself and 14 other creatives are involved in, Creative Cumbria. All the creatives have the opportunity to add their own design for the project identity, this will help immensely with the projects self-promotion and for approaching exhibitors and venues.

The process of being ‘everywhere at once’ sums up the many roles of a graphic designer. My latest self-initiated concept is to create a typeface, or is it typehand, by photographic methods, the typography becomes hand rendered.

A contact of mine from Flickr.com, having commented on my old blog logo, has asked me to create an identity for personal use. The piece i have uploaded is a rough hand-rendered initial drawing. If this is successful, it will then be imported into Illustrator to create a 2:3 high resolution version (as requested).
