Yesterday i received 4 moleskines from Hans. I can’t wait to make my mark! I am a huge fan of badges (adding the polka dot design) - so thank you for the adding to my moleskine; they are beautiful.

Lucius Young mailed me over the ‘An Oddinary Exhibition‘ eBook earlier today. It was a pleasure to be apart of this project, here is one of the spreads which featured my ‘BOX’ concept.
For more information on the project please see the ‘An Oddinary Exhibition post.’
Special thanks to Lucius Young and to the rest of the ‘Oddinary’ Team!

Having a fond love of typography, I made an attempt at designing the logotype for the collaboration project myself and 14 other creatives are involved in, Creative Cumbria. All the creatives have the opportunity to add their own design for the project identity, this will help immensely with the projects self-promotion and for approaching exhibitors and venues.
The traditional newspaper headline meets a modern hand-rendered swash.

Creative Cumbria has now gone live.
What is Creative Cumbria?
We are a group of local creatives, planning a collaboration project that will span over the summer to hopefully be available to exhibit at the end of ‘08 or early ‘09. Creatives will be inspired by Cumbria itself.
Please visit the Creative Cumbria blogspot for more information and the list of collaborators.

A bit of self-initiated play for a Creative Cumbria post, my very first attempt at a gif animation, watch your eyes!

Playing with phrasing, as part of the bonnie&clyde* series.
Spread:
In print, the subtle typography on the left page will be processed with spot UV. In other forms of presentation, i.e. animated gif, ideally i’d like the type transparency to change colour.
>> Vivek is currently adding his artwork to this image, the main aspects (page numbers/body text) will be added after the basic image has been created.

Collaboration
The Cast:
Sarah France as Bonnie
Vivek as Clyde
*”Bonnie is bored with ordinary techniques of type design and wants a change. She gets her chance when she meets a charming young visual designer by the name of Clyde. Clyde has dreams of a life of design that will free him from the hardships of the depression. The two fall in love and begin a typographical spree that extends from the UK to Dubai. They create small works with skill and panache, soon becoming minor celebrities known across the country. People are proud to have witnessed work by Bonnie and Clyde; to their victims, the duo is doing what nobody else has the guts to do. To the typographers, the two are evil graphic designers who deserve to be gunned down where they stand.”
UPDATE
Vivek and myself have decided to chose a type face for our names - mine being bonnie, and Vivek’s version of Clyde.

Thomas Bird contacted me along with other artists to contribute to his Zine.
‘The brief for this issue is pretty simple everything must be done in black and white (so i can photocopy everything) each person will do 6 pages of whatever they want, short stories, illustrations, images, anything, pages must be A5 size. The theme is anti love.’ Thomas Bird
Very exciting new project, here is a sneaky preview, an initial spread.
