Here is a cover shot of my new art book (coming soon) covering the concept of cut and paste, exploring visual communication through intricate compositions and layers.

Today I was informed by Federico Díaz Mastellone, all the way from Argentina, that my work has been used on Swissmiss. The work used is my Art Book work, an older post, which has became a popular piece considering it is self-initiated play.

Also Federico Díaz Mastellone, a graphic designer who writes for the blog ‘El Burlador,’ discovered my work on Swissmiss.
Federico commented: “it´s very-very interesting, congratulations! So, I decided to write a little article about it, in my blog.”

The translation is not very clear. Referring to me as a he is quite amusing.

Logo for FredrikHedlund.com

The brief was an old competition brief. The task was to design a logo for FredrikHedlund.com, a company (website) which sells top quality kitchen equipment and spices.
CLIENT SPECIFICATIONS
* Logo must contain the words “Fredrik Hedlund”. This is not case Sensitive.
* The logo can contain up to 4 colors.
* Entries can contain gradients.
An iconic symbol to represent the company was created. The idea was drawn from the main center of any kitchen; it’s oven, the colouring relating to spice. The typographic play interacts the initials of Fredrik Hedlund, as well as displaying his full name, the logo could be stand alone: especially with more recognition.
This is not a finished piece, as an initial idea, a lot of tweaking is still required. Need of alteration: the website name typography, colouring and refining the FH the logo so it is clear.

Adding more play to the ink collages, I further manipulated the images, copying and pasting sections and placing them in different compositions.

With the use of my new ink explorations, a new book cover has been created for “Insulin Murders” by V. Marks & C. Richmond. Giving the book a modern, sterilised appearance. With the book being fact based, a serif font was used alongside the boldness of the photographic image.
"Insulin Murders is the first book on the market to describe real life cases of murder (and purported murder) using insulin (& other hypoglycaemic agents) as a murder weapon. Written by a leading authority on insulin and its use as a murder weapon, this is a gripping account of true life crime, intended for doctors and laypeople alike." (RSM Press)
LOGO for Website Design

With currently learning the basic traits in website design, i’m eager to put the new knowledge into motion.
With having success on the “Hello Colour” campaign, the style has had a series of compliments, a client, Georgina Poynter, a qualified photographer and a dear friend, suggested using the same style for her own logo.
Having now achieved an identity for the website, the main frame can be built. With the client wanting to showcase her portfolio, a gallery technique would be most successful. I will be drawing my influences from www.jamescant.com an excellent example of how a photographers portfolio should look online.

Further Ink exploration ::
Having played with the different effects, colouring and rotation, these images were produced. To me they appear as scenes, the mustard being a reflection in a river of a flower bud, the other of an entrance to a forest.
Please feel free to leave your own interpretations.

To further post my Ink exploration ::
These illustrations/graphics were made purely through Ink explosions within a bowl of water, the only addition is the eyes and brightness, contrast manipulation.
The haziness adds to the images, creating a further fabrication of fantasy.

Having watched the opening credits to the Korean thriller, Lady Vengeance, I was intrigued by the effects and the smooth transitions between frames. With the use of a brilliant white background other aspects were then added to the sequence. I tried to replicate their effect of blood dripping into water, and in doing so came up with these wonderful effects, the images captured are rather strange in that compositions are formed naturally and are unpredictable, there is one image, at the bottom, which looks like a Victorian lady feeding her dog.
